I wrote this poem in loving memory of my dogs, Shiloh and Chops. They will forever be in my heart.
Like an incredible sunset, transforming shades of blue into rich hues of gold, fuchsia and tangerine; a momentary brilliance before the darkness of night takes hold.
And like a delicate flower, unfolding each new day to expose its dainty petals to the light of the sun; bringing joy to those who pass by before fading, then returning to the earth.
So, too, is the life of a beloved pet. Where every precious moment together is joy and laughter and adventure and snuggles; until the sunset darkens and the flower fades.
So we cherish every day; capturing each memory in our hearts, with fullness of love.
