Now, it’s time to enjoy the beautiful garden. I’m delighted to see it waking up in spring! And though I will continue to pull errant blackberries that shoot up from the soil (as well as any other weeds that find their way into the space), the hardest work is now finished!

Morel mushrooms are some of the early signs of spring.

I transplanted this seablush from my forest garden. I first sowed seeds several years ago, and the annual reliably pops up each year in abundance.

I love seeing the Western Serviceberries (left) in bloom for the first time. The stairs are being overtaken by Pacific Bleeding Heart, Lady Ferns, Thimbleberry and Maidenhair Ferns, but I just step over them, allowing them to lightly tickle my legs as I pass.
